Goodbye Gossip Girl, XOXO

This is a farewell tribute to my all time favorite show (and yes, that is a bold and very true statement). Anyone who knows me knows my style and my personality strive to be like that of Blair Waldorf's. She's entirely old school classy and classic beauty with a fire in her and a little tiny flair to get what she wants and to know everything kept from her by her infamous missions.....which always end as planned as where mine epically fail! None the less, this monday was the last episode in the series and as a loyal Gossip Girl fan, it was everything I could have asked for. I loved every bit of it and it made me remember how much I loved the series in whole. I never sat at the end of a GG episode not totally satisfied or in shock or on the edge of my seat. Favorite show. Hands down.

SPOILER ALERT: may come further a long in this so if you haven't seen the latest episode yet and/or you aren't ready to know who the real Gossip Girl is........Don't read this.....or come back to it later!

The fashion in this episode, was epic. It WAS Gossip Girl. That's part of what made the show. There was a pre-show of the cast and crew reminiscing on some of the show's greatest moments and there was a quote by one of the writers or producers that said (something like this.....) "we wanted Gossip Girl to be like a magazine. So instead of reading blogs or magazines to find out what to wear, where to go, what music to listen to, what's the latest website, app or trend.....just watch Gossip Girl". I loved that because that's EXACTLY what this show is. Or was.

As I was saying, this episode was everything that I wanted. Chuck and Blair. Who wouldn't want them to be together?! They miraculously whip up a quick but romantic Bonnie and Clye-esk wedding. Blair's wedding dress was unexpected at first because of her two first wedding gowns she had by Vera Wang but in the end, I loved it and it was so her. It was light blue, classic and you kind of want to call it "Tiffany" blue, don't you? Flowing gown, but light. Beaded and shear bodice. Just such a Blair dress. It was made by Elie Saab. Not complete without the infamous 'B' headband, but with a royal touch.

Chuck, matching of course (but in an, also, unexpected way) had the flyest tuxedo i've ever seen. If there was one that i've ever loved, this is it. In a custom Martin Greenfield, looking his best on his happiest day. It was style, it was Gossip Girl, and it was Chuck Bass- Marrying the love of his life in a shot-gun wedding in Central Park. Not complete with out his matching bow tie.

Surprise(AND SPOILER)!!! Serena and Dan have their fairy tale moment as well.....FINALLY! After years of tug of war with their love endeavors. You always knew Chuck and Blair were destined but you could never tell with these two high school sweethearts. Dan being his GG proclaimed 'Lonely Boy' and 'S' being an infamous socialite with a scandelous past, yet an upper-east side princess in a life "you can only be born into". They get.....drum roll please......Married!!!! I was so happy and shocked and it was honestly the perfect ending to a beautiful episode. Although i'm more of a Blair fan (and fan of her style) Serena is a trend setter herself. Always up the the latest and greatest of the glitz and glam. Her wedding gown was PERFECT for her. I honestly couldn't think of another one more suitable. It reminded me of a dress she wore to cotillion or a school dance with Dan on the first year they were dating, same dress Ivy stole when she was pretending to be her cousin. Dress made by Georges Chakra.

Dan Humphrey. 'Lonely Boy' is actually a self proclaimed Lonely Boy. For he is the real Gossip Girl, Shocking, yet not shocking at all. He has always wanted in this world. He is a writer and as he said on the second to last episode "I have a plan. I've had it this whole time". His motto he started Gossip Girl with was "you're nothing until you're talked about". Although GG has had her (or HIS) dark moments, as we discover in this episode she (he) has been a guardian angel at times. Interesting and sad to disappoint but it wasn't Dorota like everyone thought!

Fast-forward to the future, Chuck and Blair do live happily ever after and they even have a little boy! He's adorable and looks like a mini Chuck. I'm digging his style at the Humphrey-Vanderwoodsen wedding. Isn't he adorable next to dad?

This show did capture fashion. It showed us all music. It showed culture. It showed food. It showed love. And it showed New York, overall.

as the show is titled, "New York, We Love You, XOXO"

New York Fashion

Everyone goes to NYC for three things Love, Luxury and Labels. So naturally, i'm overthetop excited about going shopping in SoHo and off Fifth! I'm also excited about a number of luxuries things to try only in nyc.

Of course while i'm there a few days in advance I want (and MUST) stop by one of my favorite things on this planet....

Lauduree. A french baked goods shop located on the Upper East Side; originating from Paris!
The best french macaroons in the WORLD. A luxury all in it's own.

A few other things I'm wanting to try this time around are NYC best pizza.....I will have to do some asking around on that one. Best chinese food in NYC. Making friends. Going to a NYC party- probably credit to my best friend who is Manhattan's newest member! And going out on the town to a trendy club or bar or something of the sort! Seeing as this is my first time i'll be in NYC and be 21. The luxurious possibilities are endless and I can't wait to get into some crazy adventures!

A few 'Must-Grabs' while in New York are....

(Pictured: Kate Spade tights)

An array of trendy tights for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. Some of my fav quirky tights are from Kate Spade, Urban Outfitters and possibly at American Apparel.

A visit to a few of my fav NYC shoppes are in hand.....

Two of my absolute, all time fav places to grab trendy pieces. Both European based. Top shop in SoHo has quirky and trendy pieces from high end to low with some of my fav dresses from 'Dress Up TopShop'. Zara holds some of my favorite accessory pieces. Scarves from here are 'Must-Grabs', some statement jewelry and of course lace! They have the most precious and delicate lace items.

I'm hoping to also visit one of my all time favs in NYC Bergdorf Goodman's. I love to browse through the top stories filled with show rooms of my most loved designers collections including Chanel, Versace, Fendi, etc. And the shoe show room (le sigh!)(le swoon!) has me falling head over HEELS in love. Literally. The display of Louboutins. Love. Just pure love. One of my fav departments in this store (that is actually affordable!) is 5F it features more teen/younger women styles and hip designers. Last year I scored a Marc by Marc Jacobs crossbody bag for under $100! DEAL! I'm hoping to score more designer loot this time around.

(Pictured: Christian Louboutin's: Custom)

I can't wait to see what's to come of my NYC trip and adventures.

October can't come soon enough.

Happy Shopping! (if you're near nyc)

Teen Vogue Fashion U: Part II

I just got word that I was accepted into Teen Vogue Fashion University for the second time!!! I'm so excited! Mostly that I get to go back to New York City VERY soon, amongst many other reasons.
It really is an honor seeing as they only take 500 applicants through out the world when thousands and thousands(maybe millions) apply each year.

My Class schedule consists of various teachers, icons and influential members of the fashion industry.

Key Note Speaker?

Grace Coddington

Vogue's famous Creative Director who works closely with the infamous Anna Wintour!

Other classes i'm excited for are taught by none other than the It Girl herself, Nicole Riche!!!

And lastly, most excited for class with Amy Astley!

Editor-in-Chief of Teen Vogue!!!

These are just some of the classes i'm most excited about.

I also can't wait for the private shopping events/parties that will take place before and after classes at H&M and TopShop in SoHo.....two of my most stalked online shops.

My next post will consist of things I plan to buy while i'm there for the upcoming fall/winter seasons.

Happy Hump Day, readers!

Vampire Barbie

I was catching up on my True Blood (seeing as my sunday's have been consisting of singing or modeling the past few weeks) and I couldn't help but notice Pam's "vampire barbie" look, as Tara calls it. I LOVE it. Exactly what the look SHOULD be called. It's softly edgy. White leather, pink lips, big pin-up hair-but still the same dangerous spikes. So Nasty Gal. Which is where this faux leather jacket can actually be found! It's on my list now......

Fall Favs

I always get excited for season changes, because in my book that means one thing besides awful allergies......Wardrobe switch up! I can trade in the Daisy Dukes for some neutral leather leggings or some tailored skinnies from J.Crew.

A few favs i'm looking forward to.....

1. Thigh highs
They seem to get taller and taller as I get older or as fashion emerges in this town. From ankle booties a few years back to the knee-highs I finally gave into from Aldo last year and this year I dare to brave the thigh highs. Only when done right though. You don't want to look like Julia Robert's in Pretty Woman walking the streets of L.A. prostituting! ...OR like Sandra Bullock crazily stalking the gorgeous Bradley Cooper in All About Steve. I look up to Kourtney and Kim in NYC when they are rocking the thigh-highs......Well done! You don't want to let them over power you, especially if you're as petite and short as Kourtney Kardashian. A factor in these are definitely price for me, being a college student. Leather is expensive! Especially when it goes all the way up your thighs! A good brand that is both affordable and stylish for these are Chinese Laundry.

                                                                     Wrong way #1:
(even if these are knee-highs.....still wrong)

Wrong way #2:

Right way!!

A few other fashion pieces i'm looking forward to are...

2. Peplum Tops

It's the fall way to do this summer's trend of the Peplum dresses. Paired with a cute pair of leggings and booties (possibly a cardigan...) and you've got yourself the perfect fall outfit!

This cute top is found at one of my favorite websites
www.topshop.com

3. Sneaks obsession

I am completely obsessed with these new Alexander sneaks by Sam Edelman. I will be adding them to my collection shortly! I'm in love with the spikes and chains.

These can be purchases at another one of my favs...

www.nastygal.com

4. Trench

I was completely inspired and now a firm believer in the trench coat after my 2011 trip to NYC to attend Teen Vogue's Fashion U while hearing the key note speaker talk in the famous Hudson Theater, Mr. Michael Kors, himself. His camel coats from last year's collection are perfect for fall to throw on on a chilly night of events.

This one can be found at www.topshop.com as well!

Silky Summer Limbs

My apologies for my lack-there-of blogging as of late! Life has it's twists and turns but the world doesn't stop! And it sure as heck doesn't stop in this world i'm trying to make it in so I girlscoutshonorpinkyswearspitswap PROMISE to post at least once every week and a half!

Well, summer is here! And the skin (legs) are out! One pageant trick i've picked up this year, for the swim suit portion, is to be in shape and have your legs looking FANTASTIC! One way to fake this is to use this great product I found filing through the isles of one of my favorite stores, Sephora. It's called "Bathina" and it literally makes you look like you're wearing panty hoes! Try it. Buy it. Love it. Your legs will love you for it!

Happy shopping,

Silly Simple Summer Must-Haves

Silly simple summer must-haves

Floral print dress, $110
Steve Madden platform sandals, $100
Kate Spade shoulder handbag, $398
London Fog wrap jewelry, $125
Dolce&Gabbana metal aviator sunglasses, $290
Juicy Couture silk shawl, $68

1. Maxi Dress:

Prior to popular belief that maxi dresses only look good on tall people is.....WRONG! I find that it also looks amazing on a petite and small frame that I proudly carry around! I'm currently loving the ones from TopShop. Especially ones that cinch right below the chest; giving a little bit of definition to your petite body!

2. Wedges:

I'm all about wedges in the spring/summer! Very cute and summery alternative to heels this time of year. And why NOT switch it up? Always fun. I'm currently obsessed in LOVE with these simple Steve Madden wedges. You can dress them up or down. A great summer investment piece.

3.  Aviators:

Although, i'm not all about the classic aviator by, let's say, RayBan- I AM totally into more gun metal/topgun 80's pilot aviators. I just purchases a pair of unisex D&G aviators that i'm in LOVE with. They go so well with my face shape. Cool enough for the day and hot enough for the night.

4. Wrap Watches:

Specifically La Mer's collection. I love the busyness of it all with the layers of wraps and chains. Shall we call it, "arm swag" ? Actually i'm all about watches as of late, which is funny because before 2012 I wouldn't take a second look at one. I love and adore my tiny white bow watch from Badley Mischka. And i've also been vying for an oversized men's watch that will fit my tiny wrist.

5. Silk Squares:

Always a summer fav of mine. They're just adorable. I love to put my hair up and then finish by tying this atop it. Rihanna chic. They're also fun to tie around the neck via 60's, the wrist as more "arm swag", fold over the pocket of an oxford shirt as a pocket square, use your imagination/creativity!

6. TOTES wanting a Tote

I've been on the search for the perfect summer tote and for some reason Kate Spade NYC always seems to catch my eye. This is so cute and perfect for the summer time. I came across a purse similar to this one a few years back at Guess but second guessed myself on the purchase and regretted it ever since. So you can imagine my giddy face when I saw one made by Kate Spade! A little more expensive but a good summer tote to invest in!

Happy shopping, readers!

Spring Cleaning

Spring interview

Spring time! Such a lovely time of year. Also a big time for interviews for summer jobs, co-ops, internships and even pageants! I'm currently in full on pageant mode getting ready for my Miss Earth coming up SOON here in June in Albuquerque, NM. This is almost the exact outfit I chose for my interview portion of it. The dress and shoes, anyway. The blazer is almost the same but the one I chose is Antonio Melani. I figured I wanted a color that pops, a power color. A color that people wont forget. I also wanted something that would bring my personality through! I'm, of course, all about fashion and ombre is so in! This is perfect and I think will be great once I get a tan (haha)! Interview is all about being yourself and being confident. I'd say this is a confident outfit that makes me feel even more so! More updates to come soon. Sorry i've been lagging. Hope you all are still reading. Have a lovely day.

500 Days Till Summer....

It's been awhile, I apologize!! But something about this dreary weather during spring break is making me list a few Summer items i've been eyeing. It's the middle of March, in Southern New Mexico and it's SNOWING. Yes, you read right, SNOWING. Not sticking or anything but gosh it is cold out! And I thought it would be safe to put away my sweaters for the season, seeing how as of five days ago it was short wearing weather. I can't wait for summer to get here.

But here are my new favorite things and trends for right now and for SUMMER 2012!!

1. LACE. I cannot get enough of it. Especially ivory lace. I want the dresses i want the shirts I want it on my bed duvet and bags and jewelry. Layer me in lace. Mostly i've been on the look out for a short white ivory lace dress with long or quarter sleeves. Preferably a low back line. If you see one, let me know!! But it's very popular on the runway.

2. Oversized Cat-Eye Sunnies. I've been dying for a pair ever since the 2nd season of Kourt and Khlo take Miami. Kourtney Kardashian sports them well, let me tell you! I feel like we share a similar face frame and my face could def use a pair! I've recently spotted a white pair of Vogue Eyewear one's on sale that I may have to snag. I also (I know it's genius!) thought of looking at the KardashianKollection at Sears to see if they had made any for their line and, WHADDOYAKNOW?! They did.

3. Leather Leggings. Another thing i've been on the hunt for and mildly obsessed with. I found a pair of faux ones from the Guess outlet nearest to me for $15, so I couldn't pass that up but i'm hoping to find a pair more long lasting. My favorite that i've seen so far can be spotted at www.shopbop.com and maybe a pair at Urban Outfitter's. Either way they would look super casual on a chill day with an oversized t-shirt or light weight sweater. Rihanna Casual, that is.

4. Peplum Dresses, another summer trend i'm into and have been into wether it's the style or not. It suits my body type, having an almost boyish figure giving me the appearance of a slight womanly silhouette. This is the new maxi dress, the new belted oversized denim button up dress! Flattering on most body types. Dress it up or down, still fab!

5. And just a cool new line of products I spotted during my last visit to the salon........drum roll please..........PINK, BEDAZZLED hair line stuff. Conditioner, shampoo, volume spray and hair spray. What more could you ask for. Well done, to the marketing team- You sold me! This stuff actually work's really well if you're into volume and teasing your hair like I am! It was sold to salons but recently stopped because it's now available at Marshall's and TJMAXX for cheaper! Go out and get some, girl!

:D

Happy summer shopping!

life's little luxuries.....

Hello, lovers!

Okay, so i'm changing this blog up a bit, just a bit. I always find these great things and deals wether it be a new store discovery or an online site that has great designer stuff for the best prices my little green eyes have ever seen! Or even just a cool new product. I'm always squealing, sealing my lips because I don't want anyone else to copy or know my secrets. Well, readers, my Snob by M.A.C colored lips are no longer sealed! I'm spilling my secrets and finds and all of the good stuff along the way! Look out for some juicy fashion gossip to follow!

I'm going to start with my reason to live as of late..... www.ruelala.com it's a website much like giltgroupe or looksy, claims to have designer stuff (new stuff every day/week/etc.) that is discounted at great prices and you have to be invited to buy. THIS one is WORTH it. Trust. They have new designer boutiques every day and also a "daily fix" which is one product offered daily at an extremely discounted price. But there is limited quantity and is usually sold out by the end of the day. I've seen designers at great, unbelievable prices on here such as Badgley Mischka, Marc Jacobs, Juicy couture, Versace, Louis Vuitton, and French Connection just to name a few. The deal is with shipping you pay $9.00 once, then get free shipping for 30 days. Pretty good deal, right?
For example this is one of the many things I have recently purchases from this website :

Badgley Mischka white leather bow cuff watch with rose gold and mother of pearl. How much do you think this costs? $70, yes you heard right- Seventy dollars. Amazing. I had been looking into investing in a new watch like a wrap one from shopbop.com or a designer oversized men's watch, but this is just fantastic! I would definitely stand out with this watch while still trendsetting/being stylish. And so would you! Go check out Badley Mischka's collection today on ruelala.com comment below with your email if you want me to send you an invitation to the website!

Another great find if you are into Gossip Girl like I obviously, obsessively am. I am always looking for cute Blair Waldorf worthy headbands and can't seem to find too many that would grace my head as well as a crown would. Look no further for the perfect princess preppy head band worthy of Blair Waldorf herself. I came across this Juicy Couture find this morning...

School girl colors, ribbon-like, and a brooch reading "highness". If that's not Upper East Side enough for you, I don't know what is. $35.00 at Juicy.

Daily Finds!

More coming soon!

Objects in Motion

Hello again, readers!
I just got done with a super fun and long day of doing a photo shoot with my good (and very talented) friend, Aryn Dougherty! She was doing a photography project with motion so objects in motion, photographer in motion and then both of us in motion at the same time. She did all of the hair, make up and the whole production. I was cast along side another friend, Janice; and together we brought it to life! Aryn did a fantastic job and I have to say it was definitely the most fun photo shoot i've ever done! I don't wanna give too much away but I will give you a sneak peak, behind the scenes! It was very high fashion in make up and hair and I LOVE THAT SHIT STUFF. Now to comb out this huge hair and peel the rest of this liquid latex off of my body.......Stay tuned!

Finished product

Janice and I

Latex body paint everywhere!

Aryn's sketches for makeup

voila!

ahhh so much fun!

I love fashion.
I live for this stuff.

Be inspired!

Have a good day, readers!

Shoe of the month?

Hello again, readers! I have just awoken from the dead! Or so it feel after you've been bed ridden for a week for the stomach flu! Awful awful awful! I don't wish it upon any of you!! But, a great awakening for me on my first day feeling a little bit better.....I stumbled upon a few websites I have heard about but never ventured upon before. A few of the famous "shoe of the month club" websites such as Kim Kardashian's Shoedazzle.com and also Kimora Lee's Justfab.com! They are both dazzling and they are both fabulous; especially in this economy. I know, as a shopping addict myself, I am always browsing websites window shopping and saving up for my next big shoe purchase of cheetah printed Betsey Johnson's or a sparkly pair of Jeffrey Campbell's Litas. But now, each of these websites charges you a membership monthly of just below $40.00 and you get a pair of shoes, paired JUST for you and shipped for free! That's a fantastic deal if you ask me. I have hit shoe heaven. One difference I noticed on dazzle and justfab is that shoedazzle DOES charge every month until you revoke your membership and justfab ONLY charges you if you like and want a pair of shoes for the month. Also, Shoedazzle.com are more look a like shoes of designers such as their signature pink bottom, much like my beloved Christian Louboutin's. Justfab are more original designs and actually (in my opinion), a bit more fashionable than the shoedazzle.com selection in both bags and shoes. Although I am in love with a jewelry paired piece form shoedazzle. Either way, memberships are free until your first purchase! I actually made my first purchase just now from Justfab.com and got 50% off my first purchase along with a 10 month magazine subscription to MORE magazine. Another option (which is really cool!) is that the subscription is worth $20 and you can opt to not get the subscription and get refunded instead. Awesome! These websites are more than I could of imagined and I will probably be active on both! Check them out, I promise you won't be disappointed.

The find I snagged today at Justfab.com
A very stylish and desired bag from Justfab.com

A chique and simple "Jessica Simpson-like" shoe from shoedazzle.com

The jewelry set that's out of stock (I'M SO SAD) at shoedazzle.com

Happy shopping, readers!
