Near Future Headband Line....

Hello my lovely readers!

So, as you may know, I am a writer, not a designer. I can't draw, I can't sew....nothing of the sort! However, with my love of fashion i've grown very fond of accessories! You can't make up an outfit without a combination of the right accessories and components. Naturally induced from my deep love with Gossip Girl, I grew a love for headbands! Which was recently renewed with my love from the new movie, The Great Gatsby (and one of my most loved books)! I've made a few purchases lately and after a weekend at the famous Southern New Mexico Wine Fest, wearing one of my newest lace vintage pieces, I couldn't help but notice how easy it would be to create a headband. Although, detail would be key. I also went on to think that there may be others that share my love of headbands and headpieces of all sorts.

In conclusion, I have decided to create my own headband line! Probably will start on etsy or on my blog (here!) with samples and then take custom orders from there. Good prices for quality headbands!
I have yet to finish my samples (they're coming soon!) but, I thought i'd share some inspiration pictures with you all! All of these pictures were basically a inspiration board for me during this process and I hope to churn out some great headbands from my visions! Of course they are going to be Gossip Girl inspired; a little Blair, Serena and Jenny-esk. I want to stay on trend and right now I believe Gatsby inspired is HUGE so there will be lots of vintage lace and 20's muse. Tell me what you think. Would you be interested? Do you wear any headbands like this? Have any suggestions? Comment below with feedback!

(all above are vintage, 20's, or Gatsby inspired)

(My favorite headpiece from Serena Vanderwoodson)

(Little J, gotta throw some rebel headpieces in there)

I would really appreciate some feedback! I'll post the samples as soon as I can make them. Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Forward

Hello readers!

Today was the first day in my town that it really felt like spring! How I love it and missed it. Spring brings my (22nd) birthday, warmness to New Mexico, spring break and a step closer to summer time!

A few things that have caught my eye for the season are...... (drum-roll, please)

1. Round Sunglasses

I honestly have never been one for the trend but, as seen this season, if done right- I can dig it.

(IN LOVE!!!!!!)

2. Spring Coat

Just a light, slightly long coat that sways with the spring wind and just right enough to keep the chill away. In love. Although, most I found are not in my price range, this one from Banana Republic is reasonable!

3. Feature Film Tid-Bits

A few trends I've picked up (and kept) from some up coming feature films for this summer!

First, I never thought i'd do a post on any other GG besides Gossip Girl, but this summer's Great Gatsby has me going on the 20's flapper headbands! I can't get enough of Daisy's Do! I found a ton of cute, flapper-esk gaudy headbands for cheap at Clair's and Icing in my local mall.

Second, I can't get enough of Oz. The amazing cast. The black and white to color transformation. The use of the other characters. The 3D effects. The COLOR of the year. The whole movie was one of the most amazing I've ever seen. I highly recommend it if you haven't already seen it! (in 3D only, of course)
But what i've been stuck on is the make up! Urban Decay came out with some limited edition Oz palettes. With my light skin, eyes and hair i'd probably have more to do with the Glenda (good witch) Palette. But the Theodora (bad witch) just looks like so much more fun. I guess bad things always do.....

4. Bag of the Season

Okay, Okay- I tried SO hard to stray from the winter/christmas Michael Kors trend. Even my grandma now owns something from the metallic jetset or grayson collection. Let's be real. HOWEVER, this new spring line is so......spring? The gold studs, the yellow.....You had me at MICHAEL. You win my heart again Mr. Kors.....Not only is this clutch good for spring in the way of style, it's a good bag to bring to parties with you for just the essentials (so you're not lugging around a huge tote). It's also affordable!

5. Nicki, Nicki, Nicki

You've done it again, Nicki. You made me fall in LOVE with your new lipstick. I'm a lipstick fanatic. Especially when it comes to M.A.C. I love to (try) to pull off outrageous shades and I think that the new Nicki shade is the outrages look I want for the spring.

6. Lifestyle Pick

Weird, I know, but i'm obsessed with getting a juicer lately. I will own one! It sounds so clean and fresh for the summer. Breakfast would be awesome, snacks, coming up with sneak ways to get in my daily fix for fruits and veggies. Pintrest recipes anyone?

Happy Shopping!

XOXO,

Christmas Wishes and New Years Kisses

Greetings, readers-and happy holidays!!

Hope you're as ready for this new year as I am (or I will be as soon as I get over this dreadful cold of mine!!)

First let's talk shopping a few things on my christmas list I was thankful to receive and will be overly joyful to put to good use in this new year:

1. Apple goodies!

I finally decided on an Ipad as a good investment! I am now the proud owner of an adorable (and pink cover adorned) Ipad mini! I love it. I've always loved apple products and figured it would come in handy with my music and also with blogging and possibly school this up and coming semester. Hopefully it will help me be more organized.
I also treated myself to the newest of the apple products-the iphone5! A lot of people say there's not much new to it, but i'm finding myself loving it more and more every day. I love the sleekness and lightness of it most of all. Makes for a normal looking phone even with a cover! Which is much needed if you don't want a cracked phone and shards of glass upon your bronzed and powdered flawless face!

2. Purse
I had originally hoped for my Kate Spade 'Pardon my French' clutch (which I will own...) but MK will most definitely more than suffice:

Thanks to my beautiful little sister Samantha! I actually love the size of this purse-it's fantastic for going out! It fits my phone, has card holders and enough room for the few extra things I need as in make up, mints, pen, cash, etc. Also its a crossbody, so it fits sleekly over my going out clothes and I don't ever have to hold it or worry about losing it. Perfection in my eyes.
3. Folding Aviators
Enough said. Le sigh. I've been Le Drooling over these since I saw their release in Fashion Square in San Francisco this past summer. Perfect for storing in a bag as well since the case is as small as the glasses are when they're folded up!

4. Perfume:
I always ask for a fragrance for Christmas since it takes about that long for me to go through an average sized bottle if used daily. This year I opted for style more than smell and it didn't let me down in either category! I'm in love with my new Marc Jacobs 'Dot' perfume! The notes of red berries, dragon fruit, honeysuckle, jasmine, orange blossom, coconut water, vanilla, musk and driftwood is light and fruity but not too sweet. Just the way I like my perfumes. I knew it wouldn't be a let-down after I chose my beloved 'Lola' the year before for the same reasons.
5. Clothing Items:
A lover of fashion always asks for clothes! Although I did receive more accessories than clothes this year a few of my fav pieces were a feathered faux fur vest from express and a onsie from victorias secret!

TwoThousandThirteen

One year I wasn't completely positive we'd all make it to. With they Mayan calendar, predictions and zombie apocalypse hype (too much of the Walking Dead- Can't wait for Feb!!). This is really a year for a second chance! A new you, as cliche as that really does sound. Take your resolutions and stick to them! I gave myself some gifts before the year ended to help me with my resolutions! My resolutions I gave myself are to help develop new habits into adulthood which is perfect for this year! As I am becoming my own person and VERY scarily soon onto my own with a big girl job, house and family!
1. Saint Bernard pup! I have been wanting a pup for quite sometime now. Ever since my last boyfriend took custody of my lab/pitbull pup that we shared. I love big dogs. To me, little dogs have no purpose other than to be annoying. Bells in my ears. Big dogs are your best friend. They can also make great guard dogs and running partners! Well, more like walking partners with this lazy lil guy. I named her June Carter and I love her with all my heart! She's precious. Puppies, if raised correctly, can teach you lots of responsibility- which is a necessity in adulthood. I also feel overcome with joy and happiness when I am around her! She melts my heart. Even with a mouthful of my  leather gloves....

2. Abs.
Everyone's new years resolution is to get into shape. I know, again, cliche. But my goal is long term. A year- to be exact. I have one year to get my body and mind into shape because I have plans to run for a big up coming pageant, if I am satisfied with my goals. But I want to do this for me. A healthier me means a happier, more focused, driven and organized me which is what I need. It also wouldn't hurt to look like an Angel....

3. Organization.
CARPE DIEM! Seize the day because, today is the day. One of my goals this year a long with my body is to have a clear mind. I'm starting with my DISASTER of a room. My mother and I bought organizing containers and big trash cans and other things to clean and organize and get rid of clutter i've been avoiding. Then, i'm organizing my thoughts and plans and future goals, next. Hopefully with the help of my new ipad-definitly with the help of my new mind-set.

4. Cultured:
I want to start opening my mind to new things. Theres a ton out there and if i'm glued to my ground (for now) for school then there are other things to get me to see what else is out there and what is going on with the world. I used to take a journalism class in high school that would make us read the newspaper first thing in the morning and highlight grammatical errors and pick an interesting article. I want to start doing that on my own every morning if it's with my own local paper or my online subscription to New York times, the Huffington Post or even this new app I got that's pretty cool and only posts articles directly related to you and your interests called 'Flipboard'. Very cool- highly recommended.
Speaking of culture, a friend of mine and a show that i'm obsessed with (if you read this or know me, you don't have to ask which one...ahemm..GG) recently got me interested in are featured in the show by Richard Phillips. The show displays many works of art, all of which are real but the two most iconic and favorite pieces happen to be by the same artist! I'm looking into buying duplicates of each to have when I buy my own house. I would love to have them adorned in my bedroom for the mean time....
These can be found and ordered as posters or prints on Art.com.

Happy New Year, Happy Shopping and Happy Resolutions!
Cheers!

XOXO,
